Immigration Attorney

Job Description:

We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Associate Immigration Attorney to join our Jackson Heights office. The ideal candidate will have experience in handling various immigration cases, including family-based petitions, employment-based immigration, asylum, removal defense, and naturalization applications.

This role requires strong legal research, writing, and advocacy skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Represent clients in immigration court and before USCIS, ICE, and EOIR.
• Prepare and file immigration applications, petitions, and motions.
• Conduct legal research and draft legal briefs, motions, and memoranda.
• Attend interviews and hearings, advocating zealously for clients.
• Provide legal counsel to clients regarding various immigration matters.
• Work closely with paralegals and legal assistants to ensure case progress.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in immigration law and policies.
• Effectively manage a caseload and meet deadlines.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice law in New York (or ability to obtain admission).
• 1-3 years of experience in immigration law (preferred but not required).
• Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Fluency in Spanish, Hindi, Bengali, or another second language is a plus.
• Passion for immigration law and advocacy for immigrant rights.
