Associate Attorney

Job Description:
Established fast-paced landlord-tenant law firm seeks an associate attorney with experience in Housing Court. The attorney must have landlord-tenant experience and a working understanding of landlord-tenant laws, Rent Stabilization Code, Real Property Law (RPL), Real Property Actions and Proceedings Law (RPAPL), New York City Housing Maintenance Code (NYC HMC), and HPD Violations. Responsibilities: * Draft Nonpayments and Holdovers for both commercial and residential cases; * Ability to draft motions, oppositions, and pleadings, and more complex documents; * Have working knowledge of how to file case documents such as motions, pleadings, and opposition papers on NYSCEF; * Court coverage as necessary with the ability to negotiate stipulations, argue motions, and perform inquests, hearings or trials; * Engage in extensive communication with clients; Key Requirements: * Bar Admission and licensed in New York State (in good standing); * Possession of research and writing skills; * Ability to prioritize multiple competing priorities; and handle assignments quickly and independently. Salary: $75,000 - $110,000 per year. Full-time position with occasional court appearances necessary.
