Job Description:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Understand and keep up to date on state and federal estate planning laws, as well as any relevant case law. Advise clients on the best way to structure their assets and affairs to minimize taxes and maximize asset protection. Prepare wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other estate planning documents for clients. Assist clients with probate, trust, and estate administration matters. Help clients plan for incapacity through the use of advance directives. Work with clients financial advisors and insurance agents to coordinate the overall estate plan. Review clients existing estate plans and make recommendations for changes. Educate clients on estate planning topics such as gift giving, charitable giving, and asset protection. Keep abreast of new developments in the field of estate planning and advise clients accordingly. Serve as a resource to clients family members and other advisers. Handle litigation matters related to estate planning, such as will contests and trust disputes. Represent clients in court when necessary.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS*: Excellent writing and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated expertise in drafting wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other estate planning documents. Juris Doctor degree from an American Bar Association accredited law school. Admission (or eligibility for reciprocal admission) to the bar in the state in which you intend to practice. Typically, 7-10+ years of experience as an attorney.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Duties will be performed in a standard office environment. Employees must have the ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with Gravis policy. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will occasionally be required to work weekends, holidays, be on call, and some employees could be required to travel overnight on occasion. Salary: $130,000+
