Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Associate Immigration Attorney to manage a diverse caseload of immigration matters and provide high-quality legal representation to clients. The ideal candidate is passionate about helping individuals, families, and businesses navigate the U.S. immigration system.
Responsibilities include:
- Interact with various outside entities, including but not limited to clients, governmental agencies and officials, courts, corporations, and other law firms.
- Draft complex case matters including affidavits, evidentiary submissions, motions, and appeals.
- Organize, plan, and schedule cases on priority basis.
- Handle and follow cases from inception to completion within the stipulated time frame.
- Review and approve documents and filings with accuracy.
- Conduct client consultations, assess eligibility, and develop case strategies.
- Prepare and file petitions, applications, motions, and briefs with USCIS, EOIR, DOL, DOS, and federal courts as applicable.
- Appear before immigration courts, USCIS interviews, and other relevant proceedings.
- Maintain communication with clients, providing updates and guidance throughout the process.
- Collaborate with paralegals and legal assistants to ensure accuracy and completeness of filings.
- Conduct legal research and stay current with changes in immigration laws, regulations, and policies.
- Maintain deadlines, priorities, and case milestones within case management software.
You will bring at least a year of experience in a similar role and have:
- JD from an accredited law school.
- 1- 3 years of experience practicing immigration law.
- Admission to State Bar (Required).
- Strong knowledge of immigration statutes, regulations, and procedures.
- Excellent legal writing, analytical, and research skills.
- Exceptional communication and client service abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple cases and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with immigration case management systems
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred but not required. Additional languages a plus.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace, Adobe Acrobat, and able to learn new programs, systems, or applications quickly.
