Job Description:
Perform general duties of an environmental attorney, including advising clients on environmental compliance obligations.
Advising on permitting, compliance, responding to enforcement actions, and remedial requirements.
Experience researching environmental, land use, or administrative law and regulatory requirements at the federal, state and local level.
Key responsibilities include:
- Advising on permitting, compliance, responding to enforcement actions, and remedial requirements
- Experience as the primary author of legal memoranda, briefs, motions, discovery, contracts, regulatory agreements, and/or substantive environmental policy articles and commentary
- Experience researching environmental, land use, or administrative law and regulatory requirements at the federal, state and local level
Required skills include:
- High performer with organizational and project management skills
- Excellent communication skills, oral and with exceptional writing skills
- Efficient, creative, and effective legal researcher
- Proficient in the use of on-line legal research services and other available legal resources
Education, experience and/or training required:
- 4-6+ years of experience in federal and state environmental and land use law
- Substantial experience with CERCLA, RCRA, CWA, CAA, TSCA, FIFRA and Michigan NREPA equivalents
