Patent Attorney - Biotechnology

Job Description:

We are seeking a Patent Attorney in biotechnology to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of intellectual property law with an emphasis on patent preparation and prosecution, strong technical knowledge of biotechnology, immunology, microbiology, pharmacology, and related disciplines, excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational and prioritization skills, demonstrated attention to detail, strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities will include preparing and prosecuting U.S. and international patent applications for complex biotechnology, biochemistry, biomedical sciences, genetics, immunology, microbiology, pharmaceuticals, and small molecule technologies, conducting freedom-to-operate and prior art searches, conducting patentability, validity, and infringement analyses and developing associated legal opinions.

Requirements include a J.D. from an accredited law school, admission to practice law in Minnesota, experience in patent prosecution, knowledge of foreign patent prosecution procedures, strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills, and a bachelor of science in biology and/or chemistry or similar degree.
