Job Description:
We are seeking a Life Science Patent Attorney at the Partner level with technical expertise in organic chemistry or pharmaceuticals. Key Responsibilities: Patent Prosecution: On-board and manage portable client portfolios, prepare, file, and prosecute patent applications while ensuring high-quality, timely deliverables. Client & Inventor Collaboration: Ability to interact with clients to understand their technologies and provide technical insights that inform patent strategies. Business Development: Willingness to contribute to the firm s business development efforts and strategic growth. Team Development & Mentorship: Provide mentorship and guidance to junior practitioners and other team members. Budget & Time Management: Manage client budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources and maintaining project timelines. Continuous Professional Development: Stay abreast of industry developments, scientific advancements, and legal trends in patent law. Requirements: Education: Advanced degree (Ph.D.) in organic chemistry. A master s degree and/or substantial industry or research experience may also be considered. Experience: 5-10 years of patent prosecution experience with substantial focus in the pharmaceutical, synthetic organic, or chemical sectors. Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong legal analysis and problem-solving skills, ability to manage effectively an active prosecution docket. Compensation: Anticipated base salary $220,000 - $270,000. Practitioners are eligible for an origination bonus for each client brought to the firm and a productivity bonus for all hours billed in excess of 1,900 hours.
